This page explains what happens when you give us your email address on this site — nothing more. Permanently Unfinished doesn't run ads, doesn't use tracking cookies, and doesn't collect any personal data beyond what you submit yourself through the notify form.
What we collect
Just your email address, and only when you submit it yourself through the "Get notified" form. We don't collect names, IP addresses, browsing behaviour, or any other personal data through this site.
What we use it for
Your email address is used for one thing: news about Permanently Unfinished — letting you know when the book is available, and the occasional field note from the writing process. We will never sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone else, and we will never use it for anything unrelated to this book.
Who stores it
Email addresses are stored and sent on our behalf by MailerLite, an email marketing platform headquartered in Lithuania, within the EU. MailerLite acts as our data processor under GDPR — they store the data on our behalf, under our instructions, and don't use it for their own purposes. You can read MailerLite's own privacy policy for details on how they handle data on their infrastructure.
Legal basis
We use double opt-in: submitting the notify form starts the process, but you're only added as a confirmed subscriber once you click the confirmation link MailerLite emails you afterward. That confirmation click is your consent, and it's the only basis on which we process your data. If you don't confirm, your address stays unconfirmed and isn't used to send you anything beyond that one confirmation email.
Unsubscribing and your rights
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every email we send — no need to ask anyone. You can also ask us directly, at any time, to access, correct, or delete the data we hold about you, or to withdraw your consent outright. Just email soren@friis.io and we'll handle it.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. Submitting the notify form sends your email address directly to MailerLite; nothing else is collected or tracked while you browse.
Who's responsible
Søren Friis Alexandersen, the author of Permanently Unfinished, is the data controller for the email addresses collected through this site. Questions or requests can be sent to soren@friis.io.
